Projects
are produced by Mike, experienced in music marketing and production.
He and his assistants record and photograph on location, usually
in concert halls. Past clients include professional orchestras,
musicians, conductors, churches and arts organizations and presenters.
He has worked in major studios and every major concert hall in
DFW.
Classical
music recording is much different from pop recording - classical
music must retain its "documentary" nature - as if you
were listening to it in a concert hall. It's not a close, isolated
sound that you get in a soundproofed studio. The sound must be
natural and airy, yet have some depth and presence. Balance between
instruments must be right on.
Where
a pop production can have its own unique sound, a classical production
must adhere to a "generally accepted" concert hall sound.
Any tweaks in getting a deeper or fuller sound must be subtle.
Expensive,
accurate microphones must be used, in configurations that retain
a natural stereo image. All this is learned through schooling,
years of experience, analyzing past and current recordings, and
continuous reading of trade publications.
Once
your product is made, marketing is another project we
can help you with. Print, presskits, websites and streaming audio
can be produced to distribute your product.
You
may have only one chance to produce your product - can you afford
to re-do it? Make sure your producer/consultant has experience
in your type of style, and is not working on your type of project
for the first time.
